Professional Profile
Michael Haralabidis is the HFSF’s Chief Risk Officer (since June 2011) and he has also served as HFSF’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Aug.-Oct. 2016). Before joining HFSF (June 2011), Michael worked as: (a) Group Chief Risk Officer (2008-2011) at Piraeus Bank, (b) Senior Advisor (1997-2003) & Deputy Director (2003-2008), Group Risk Management at National Bank of Greece, (c) Economic Analyst (1995-1997), Economic Research Division at Bank of Greece (the Central Bank) (d) Financial Analyst (1993-1995), Economic Research Division at Ionian & Popular Bank of Greece. He has also served as member and chairman of the Audit Committee of both European Investment Bank (2000-2005) and European Investment Fund (2001-2005) in Luxembourg. He is the Regional Director for Greece of the Professional Risk Managers’ International Association (PRMIA) and he holds a Degree in Economics from the University of Athens-Greece and an M.Sc. in International Economics, Banking and Finance from University of Wales / Cardiff Business School-U.K.
