Who we are

Christos Alexakis is Associate Professor in the Department of Finance and Accounting at the ESC – Rennes School of Business in France and a Visiting Professor at the University Cattolica in Milan. He has taught in the Universities of York, Leeds, Bradford, Athens, and Piraeus.

Prof. Alexakis has written several scientific papers published in high quality referred academic journals, as well as several books related to finance (e.g. Takaful – Islamic Insurance published by Elgar, 2019).

Apart from his academic experience Christos Alexakis has extensive professional experience in the financial markets as executive manager (CEO) in companies in the financial sector. During 2010-2011 he was CEO in Invest in Greece SA, the official investment promotion agency for Greece (currently Enterprise Greece S.A.).

Between 2016-2020 Prof. Alexakis was a member of the Stakeholders Group (SMSG) of the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA). Since 2017 is a member of the Selection Panel (SP) of the Hellenic Financial Stability Fund (HFSF) appointed by the Governor of the Central Bank of Greece, Prof. Y. Stournaras.
